These Terms & Conditions govern your use of selectm.tv (“we”, “us”). By watching, signing in, voting, submitting a video, sending hearts, or buying vote packs, you agree to these terms.

These are plain product policies for selectm.tv. They are not a formal lawyer review, legal advice, or a substitute for a professionally drafted agreement.

selectm.tv is a modern take on MTV Select: one global live music-video channel. Everyone sees the same YouTube clip at the same time, kept in sync by a Durable Object clock. A Coming Up queue shows what is likely next. You can tap hearts as a reaction, and signed-in users can search, submit, and vote on what plays after the current video.

Playback depends on YouTube. We embed YouTube videos; we do not host the video files. YouTube availability, ads, region blocks, and age restrictions are outside our control.

You can watch as a guest. To vote, submit videos, or buy votes you must sign in. The channel uses Google sign-in. You are responsible for the Google account you use and for activity on your selectm.tv account.

We may suspend or delete an account that we reasonably believe is abusive, fraudulent, or breaking these terms.

Hearts are a live reaction. Anyone can send them; they do not change what plays next and they have no cash value.

Votes are the currency of the queue. Casting a vote spends one vote from your wallet and is how you influence what comes next. Hearts and votes are different on purpose.

The first time you sign in with Google we grant 10 starter vote credits. After that you earn 1 free vote per hour, capped at 1 banked free vote. Unused purchased votes stay in your wallet until spent.

You can buy vote packs through Square: 10 votes for US$1.00 per pack. Payments are processed by Square in USD. Votes are a limited in-app credit for this channel. They are not money, crypto, property, or a stored-value facility. They are not transferable, and they have no cash-out value.

If a purchase fails or we do not receive Square’s payment confirmation, votes may not be credited. If we credit votes in error we may reverse them. Australian Consumer Law rights that cannot be excluded still apply.

Only submit YouTube music videos you believe are appropriate for a public, shared channel. Do not submit content that is illegal, hateful, pornographic, or that you do not have the right to share via YouTube’s public embed.

We may remove videos from the selection or skip playback if they break these terms, YouTube’s rules, or would harm the channel. Votes already spent are not refunded except where the law requires it.

Do not attack, scrape, or overload the service; manipulate votes with bots or multiple fake accounts; interfere with the shared clock; or use selectm.tv to break the law. We may rate-limit, block, or reset wallets when we reasonably suspect abuse.

selectm.tv, the selectm.tv logo, and the channel UI are ours (or used with permission). YouTube videos and marks belong to their owners. You grant us a limited licence to display your profile name/photo and your submissions/votes as part of running the public channel.

The channel is provided as-is. Live sync, YouTube embeds, Google sign-in, and Square checkout can fail. We do not promise uninterrupted playback, that a particular video will play, or that votes will achieve a particular queue position.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss, or for loss of votes, data, or enjoyment. Our aggregate liability for a claim about the service is limited to the amount you paid us for vote packs in the 12 months before the claim, or AUD $50 if you have not paid us.

Nothing in these terms excludes non-excludable rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

These terms are governed by the laws of Australia. If a dispute cannot be resolved, the courts of Australia may hear it. If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest still applies.

We may update these terms as the product changes. The effective date on the page will change when we do. Continued use after an update means you accept the new terms.
